The Orthowedge Healing Shoe
The Orthowedge is clinically proven to reduce weight bearing pressure on the forefoot by as much as 57%, thereby promoting faster healing after surgery, trauma or when forefoot wounds or ulcerations are present. For use in fractures of the metatarsals and toes and as a healing shoe for the diabetic and insensitive foot. The design of this lightweight shoe allows ulcerations under the metatarsal heads and toes to heal faster.
The Orthowedge is the perfect choice for use after surgical procedures with or without pins. Supplied in a functional black.
Upper Section
Made with a breathable Tricot foam-lined black nylon mesh contouring to the foot and incorporating a padded dorsal flap. The strapless fastening system can be removed and rotated to provide a left or right overlap. The removable forefoot closure providessecurity while eliminating buckle pressure and can expand to accommodate bulky dressings.The ankle strap seats the foot firmly in the shoe to reduce heel slippage and eliminate friction.
Sole Section 
The square-toe design acts as a bumper and provides protection when k-wires are present, gives an overall better fit by eliminating toe overhang and the wide base gives extra stability. The zoned outsole has an aggressive tread under the mid-foot where traction is needed most. The removable insole features twice the padding of standard insoles and can be modified as needed. The insole can be totally removed to accommodate the innovative Peg-Assist customisable off-loading insole for an even more targeted off-load.
