  The Heelift Suspension Boot

Designed by orthopaedic surgeons, Heelift Suspension Boots effectively remove pressure from the heel, the second most common site for pressure sores, greatly assisting tissue viability. For non-oedematous legs or patients who prefer a slightly cooler boot there's the original Heelift. For oedematous legs or patients with very sensitive skin, choose the new Heelift Smooth.

More than merely a cushion or cover, Heelift eliminates pressure by lifting the heel with an elevation pad and suspending the heel in protective space. Pressure is transferred from the heel to the lower leg. In heel sore prevention regimes, Heelift is appropriate for at-risk patients who are immobile, post-operative or suffer from diabetes, cardiovascular disease or dietary deficiencies. In treatment regimens, Heelift is an ideal adjunct. Other indications for use are foot drop, flaccid paralysis (non-spastic), pre- and post-operative hip fractures and skin grafts.

Heel Elevation Pads. The adjustable design of Heelift accommodates each patient's needs. Two elevation pads, along with detailed application instructions, are included with each Heelift. Adjusting the position of the elevation pads allows a custom fit for every patient.

Saves Time for Caregivers. Heelift requires less patient monitoring since the boot remains in position, thereby freeing the caregivers to treat the primary condition of the patient. Internal and external foot movement is controlled because Heelift can be adjusted for a secure, custom fit. Ventilation holes, tricot backing for mobility and soft, yet firm, foam add up to increased patient compliance.

Easy Care Instructions. When Heelift becomes soiled, hand washing with cold water and a mild cleanser is recommended. Machine washing the boot in a standard, not industrial, washer is an acceptable alternative to hand washing. The touch 'n' close straps should be closed and placed into a net laundry bag prior to machine washing. Machine washing may degrade the adhesive.
  • Ventilation Holes. Ventilation holes provide additional air circulation to promote increased patient comfort.
  • Fastenings. Two padded touch 'n' close fastening straps adjust to accommodate different size patients, health conditions and wound dressings.
  • Backing. Friction-free Tricot backing on the underside increases patient mobility.
  • Stiffener. Polyethylene stiffener prevents boot from buckling in use.
