Knee

Top of Page		   The Multifit Universal Knee Support  
The Universal Knee Support has been developed to accommodate all knee circumferences in just two sizes, thus reducing the need for large costly stocks. This has been achieved by constructing the support in two over-lapping halves. Knees with great variation in their above- and below-knee dimensions can now be catered for. The support is bi-lateral and is manufactured in the UK in durable, washable, "cushion-soft", multi-stretch Neoprene.

  • Lining. The cotton towelling lining alleviates the uncomfortable heat retention problems normally associated with Neoprene and provides extra padding overall.
  • Fastenings. The touch 'n' close fastenings allow for easy adjustment. Thigh and calf straps can be set for left- or right-handed fastening and are replaceable.
  • Metal Splints. The hinged metal reinforcements with hyper-extension stops provide both medial and lateral support and are removable.

Top of Page		   The Multifit One-piece Knee Brace  
This brace is a single piece unit incorporating three enclosed aluminium splints for comfort and immobilisation. It is a lightweight design and the four touch 'n' close fastening straps with return loops provide a secure fit. The brace is made in black, and fits either the left or right knee. It is lined with a breathable padded white nylon mesh with additional protective foam padding positioned along each splint location.

Top of Page		   The Multifit Three-piece Knee Brace  
This brace provides an optimum fit through the adjustment and positioning of the three separate pieces of the brace. The centre back panel, with its three enclosed contoured aluminium splints, and the two detachable side panels, with their touch 'n' close connectors, can be set to the required fit. The side panels each incorporate an enclosed aluminium splint for limb comfort and reliable immobilisation. The four touch 'n' close fastening straps with their return loops ensure a secure fit. The white foam lining and black exterior nylon and vinyl surfaces are all perforated for better breathability and comfort. The brace fits either the left or the right knee.

This white, breathable, elasticated ankle support incorporates a heel cut out for ease of fit and comfort. The lightweight slip-on support provides compression and protection without restricting mobility and can be worn in association with normal footwear. Top of Page		   Multifit General Purpose Ankle Brace  
This is a new ankle brace that uses a breakthrough combination liner to help support and protect unstable or injured ankles. It can be used with or without cold therapy but the liner can be removed and placed in the freezer then replaced in the outer shells to provide a cool compress helping to reduce some of the discomfort associated with ankle trauma. Additional sets of liners can be purchased separately so that one set can be cooled while the other is in use. The brace is available in two models that fit either the left or the right foot. The Acute Care Model is excellent for use after acute injury whereas the Trainer Model is ideal for extended wear on patients with chronic ankle problems.

Bracing for the future! The Foam/Gel is the new ankle brace that uses a unique breakthrough combination of foam and gel to help support and protect unstable or injured ankles. The unique chambered lining system provides the ultimate in cushioned protection for your patients. The upper chamber is pre-inflated with air and encloses a foam pad to conform to the calf, and the lower chamber is filled with gel to mould to the malleoli. A custom fit is possible every time, even during high levels of activity, and the gentle compression reduces oedema associated with ankle trauma. The Foam/Gel is the perfect choice for hot and cold therapy: the dual-chambered lining can be removed and placed in a microwave or freezer to provide hot or cold compression for your patients.

The Flex 'n' Fit Ankle Brace provides a new treatment choice for acute ankle sprains and can be adjusted to suit the injury and required fit. It is available in a universal size for convenient stockholding and can be easily contoured to fit a variety of sizes. The Flex 'n' Fit is designed for long-term use and to fit inside a shoe.
  The Flex 'n' Fit Ankle Brace is available singly as Product Code FNF 1 (AB2320-00), or in a box of six as FNF 6 (AB2320-06).

To expand the versatility of the Achilles/Alliance Drop Foot Orthoses, a detachable touch 'n' close ankle strap, which can easily be fitted to existing or new orthoses, is now available from stock. The universal strap can be trimmed to length and can be attached to fasten either left- or right-handed. It is washable, comfortable and allows a wider range of conditions and shoe types to be catered for.

Our well established Achilles and Alliance Drop Foot Orthoses are available with an optional
"Touch 'n' Close" fastening, and can also be fitted with an ankle strap.

In addition, the Economy and Alliance lines are now available in
a "Full Foot" style for extra comfort and convenience.


Achilles  
The Multifit Achilles is the first fully adjustable, ready-made drop foot orthosis. Combining a successful research programme with proven design features means the Achilles can be fitted to a wide range of leg and foot sizes from a very small stock requirement. Designed and manufactured totally in the UK, the Achilles is vacuum-formed from a lightweight opaque white polymer with high fatigue resistance, and is also available in black for discreet wear with dark attire.
  • Foot Section. The foot section is ventilated and tapered at the leading edge for comfort and ease of trimming.
  • Heel Section. The heel section contains a special cut-out feature to minimise pressure areas and reduce shoe fitting problems.
  • Back Stem. The back stem features a unique, self-contained height adjustment which is totally simple to use.
  • Calf Strap. The calf strap and calf band allow adjustable flexibility over a wide range of calf circumferences with simple press stud or touch 'n' close fastenings on each side. Replacements are available:- the code for the standard orthoses is ACS, that for the touch 'n' close version is TNCACS.

The Multifit Economy is a highly effective, comfortable, drop foot orthosis with many features derived from the notably successful Achilles adjustable range but with economy very much in mind. It is vacuum-formed in the UK from a lightweight polymer of high fatigue resistance and is produced in a range of sizes. The Economy is available in an opaque white or black for discreet wear with light or dark attire. Having taken note of customer comments and feedback in the course of our research we are pleased to announce that we are now able to supply this popular orthosis in a "Full Foot" version.  
  • Foot Section. The foot section is designed to fit the interior contours of suitable footwear, which allows the wearer a normal and naturally comfortable 'foot in the shoe' fit without any adverse correction. The leading edge of the "Full Foot" version can be trimmed to size for optimum conformity with shoe shape.
  • Heel Section. A sturdy heel section fits snugly into the shoe, giving the wearer maximum support and comfort.
  • Back Stem. The back stem can be adjusted with hot air to achieve minor set changes and provide the correct degree of flexion.
  • Calf Strap. The padded calf strap allows for a wide range of calf circumferences to be accommodated and is easily attached by either hand using the touch 'n' close fastening.

The Multifit H.V. Support is an adjustable, corrective, lively orthosis for use post operatively and for the gentle and comfortable relief of symptoms accompanying hallux valgus and other similar painful conditions associated with the big-toe joint. The H.V. support is manufactured in lightweight, "cushion-soft", Neoprene and has many design advantages including usage by day or by night. It can be worn under suitable footwear and is machine washable for convenient, long-life hygiene.

  • Toe Section. This has a comfortable toe cup with an opening designed to accommodate the toe nail.
  • Fitting Action. The correct fit appertaining to foot length and circumference, together with the degree of corrective action, is automatically achieved when the support is adjusted.
  • Fastening. The support is neatly and securely held in place by simple touch 'n' close fastenings.

Top of Page		   Supporter Orthopaedic Insert Soles  
The greatest advance for years in foot comfort and support! Foot comfort is largely dependent on correct posture and weight bearing transmission during standing and walking. The condition of tender metatarsal heads (ball of foot) accompanied by fallen or weakened longitudinal valgus arch (inner arch of foot) often creates a change of weight-bearing areas as the sufferer attempts to "walk around" the tender and/or weak locations. This transfer of weight to areas not intended for it can lead to further physical complications, and so it is essential to provide support and/or light corrective pressure as soon as possible.

'Supporters' have been designed in three basic styles so that the potential wearer may choose the one most suitable for his or her condition. All three styles incorporate the moulded lip, shaped to "cup" the meniscus of the heel, and so to assist in maintaining correct linear position of the foot during weight bearing.

  • Style A - Metatarsal and Valgus. Combined integral metatarsal and valgus moulds to relieve pressure on the metatarsal heads and to give positive support and light corrective pressure to the inner longitudinal arch. Product Code SISA.
  • Style B - Valgus. Moulded valgus for support and provision of light corrective pressure to the inner longitudinal arch and to assist in establishing a "springier" and more anatomically-correct weight bearing body posture. Product Code SISB.
  • Style C - Metatarsal. Pre-formed basic metatarsal support designed to transfer weight from painful metatarsal heads accompanied by the unique removable segments to accommodate possible individual requirements for extra depth. Product Code SISC.
