The Multifit Heel Elevator   Designed by orthotists who required an economic and instantly adjustable ready-made heel raise. They wanted a heel wedge that eliminated the need for a large stock holding and that could be fitted instantly. Both criteria have been satisfied by the Multifit Heel Elevator. This product has been proved to save time and money. Each of the two sizes can be adjusted from 15mm down to 3mm just by peeling off 3mm layers. This unique orthosis can be used to rectify the uneven gait caused by leg-length discrepancies and Achilles Tendonitis repairs. In some circumstances, it has also been found to reduce back pain associated with posture problems. The Heel Elevator is bi-lateral and is sold singly. Peel-Away Layers. Clinical trials have proved that 15mm of internal lift is the maximum depth accepted for normal footwear. Using the unique peel-away layers enables the Heel Elevator to reduce from 15mm to 3mm in intervals of 3mm. Due to the active nature of the adhesive, it is possible to reconstruct the layers during the fitting process. Construction. A laminate consisting of firm EVA foam with an adhesive coating between the layers. The upper surface is covered with velour fabric and it is hand washable. Shape. Because the layers peel from the underside of the Heel Elevator, the tapered leading edge remains the same irrespective of the number of layers removed, as does the upper fabric covering and the radiused back edge. The Multifit Ankle/Elbow Joint Kit   The Ankle/Elbow Joint Kit allows the manufacturer of vacuum formed orthoses to produce, from the patient's cast, a reliable jointed orthosis with the minimum of expense and effort. The design incorporates many unique features that directly benefit the orthosis manufacturer and the patient. The Joint Kit has been designed and manufactured in the UK and is a registered design. It represents extremely good value for money and is highly competitively priced. Shape. The shape of the plastic joint ensures a positive keyed fit in the finished orthosis. This is achieved through the raised protrusions of the fixing system, together with the toggle-shaped upper end. The joint is bi-lateral and has a nominal thickness of 3mm. Fastenings. The stainless steel fastenings provide a positive attachment of the joint to the upper section of the orthosis. The nuts are easy to position in their hexagonal recesses; allow for a load-spreading firm anchorage; do not rotate; are replaceable, and do not have the problems associated with other types of threaded inserts. One size of threaded fastening has been used throughout the range. Joint Screw Adjustment. The joint screw assembly allows for thickness adjustment. As the thickness of plastic used for producing orthoses varies, as does the actual thickness once formed, the use of shims allows for adjustment. The joint's screws are supplied with shims so the desired fit can be achieved. Material. The joint is manufactured in natural homopolymer polypropylene to ensure a tough and durable product without the disadvantages of bulk and weight. It is cosmetically acceptable and compatible with modern thermoforming materials. Instructions. Each kit comes with a comprehensive set of instructions and our technical department will be happy to supply any further information on request. Also available is a custom service for joints of a different thickness and colour. Contents. The kit consists of:- 2 x polypropylene joints; 2 x female joint screws; 6 x male screws (8 for the large size of joint); 4 x nuts (6 for the large size); 2 x 0.8mm joint shims; 2 x 1.6mm joint shims; 2 x double-sided adhesive foam pads; 2 x single-sided adhesive foam pad covers. The Multifit Lace 'n' Lock   The Lace 'n' Lock is a device which provides a unique method of tying shoes without bows or knots. Using elastic laces and an ingenious plastic lock it is ideal for one-handed operation or manipulative problem cases. The Multifit Spec-Retainer   Originally developed for the demanding sports industry, this is an inexpensive soft Neoprene securing strap which holds any type of eyeglasses comfortably in position. It also allows the patient to wear their spectacles around the neck for safe keeping. The simple, unobtrusive and lightweight design ensures that patients with loose or ill-fitting glasses, or those with muscle control conditions, do not have to endure the distress of losing/damaging their spectacles. The Multifit Spec-Retainer is washable and is supplied in the colour grey, unless otherwise requested.   The Spec-Retainer is available in packs of 5 in a universal 'one-size-fits-all' size as Product Code SR. Please note that Spec-Retainers are only sold in packs of 5, not individually.

The Multifit Limbo Cast/Dressing Protector   This waterproof re-usable Cast/Dressing Protector allows patients to bathe and shower comfortably (although this product is not recommended for swimming) without worrying about water seepage that could damage casts or dressings and, therefore, avoids re-plastering/re-dressing. It is a self-sealing, self-supporting cover which consists of a durable, flexible, PVC nylon reinforced sleeve with welded seams, bonded to a nylon-covered Neoprene seal. The flexibility of the design, particularly the compliant seal, enables the product to fit a high percentage of patients without the need for a multitude of different models. The range extends from hand to full arm and from lower leg to full leg. There is also a cover for the knee and the elbow which are suitable for showers only. Size Guide.
